Airport Engineering involves the design and construction of a large variety of facilities for the landing, takeoff, ground movement, and parking of the airplanes; maintenance and repair of airplanes; fuel storage; and handling of passengers, baggage, and freight.  Typically there are terminal buildings and hangars; pavements for airplane runways, taxiways, and aprons; roads, bridges, and tunnels for cars and walkways for pedestrians; parking areas for cars; drainage structures; and underground storage tanks.  It is our responsibility to determine the size and arrangement of these facilities for safe, efficient, and low-cost operations.
